MANILA, Philippines — Filipino actress Sue Prado, known for her performances across film, television and theater, has died at the age of 44, her family confirmed.
The announcement was made in a social media post by her sister, May Shereen Prado, who shared the family’s official statement:
“Our dearest Sue M. Prado has become a constant star in the night sky. It is with profound pain that we share Sue’s passing,” the post read
“Sue brought light in anyone’s path throughout her life. A life lived for others, for the craft she nourished and for those who she loved most. Please celebrate her in any way you know how, and honor her memory through kindness,” she added.
No cause of death was disclosed.
Prado built a respected career marked by emotionally grounded and socially relevant roles, earning recognition in both independent cinema and mainstream productions. She was widely regarded for her ability to convey depth and quiet intensity on screen.
Among her notable works were supporting roles in the films “Barber's Tales,” “Balota” and “Kantil,” as well as her lead performance in “Anak Ka ng Ina Mo,” directed by Jun Robles Lana.
Beyond acting, Prado was also known as a human rights advocate, using her platform to support social causes alongside her artistic work.
Funeral and viewing arrangements have yet to be announced.
