Andrea Brillantes leads Rein Entertainment’s new film ‘Laya’

With Andrea Brillantes’ series “A Secret in Prague” now streaming on Netflix and premiering on Monday on TV5, multi-award-winning film company Rein Entertainment is also moving ahead with its next feature film, “Laya,” which stars the young actress with JC Santos and Anthony Jennings.

The film marks Rein Entertainment’s latest feature project as the Filipino production studio continues to develop stories for both film and series, with an eye toward local audiences and international platforms.

Shot entirely in Oslob, Cebu, “Laya” draws from the town’s natural landscape, which serves as both setting and emotional backdrop for a story centered on introspection, healing and transformation. The production was mounted with the support of the Local Government Unit of Oslob, allowing the film to make full use of the area’s distinct coastal atmosphere.

Now in the final stages of post-production, “Laya” is being prepared for a festival-first rollout, followed by a planned local theatrical release in the last quarter of 2026. The project also received support from the Film Development Council of the Philippines through its CreatePH Production Grant.

“Laya” is written and directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, the Filipino filmmaker behind character-driven stories that have traveled to both local and international film festivals.

Beyond the film, Rein Entertainment said “Laya” also opens the door to a wider creative collaboration with Brillantes, who is set to headline an upcoming series with the studio.

“We’ve seen Andrea grow into one of the most compelling young actors of her generation,” said Lino Cayetano, filmmaker and CEO and producer of Rein Entertainment. “Laya is just the beginning of a deeper collaboration. We’re excited to continue building projects with her that challenge, elevate and resonate with audiences both locally and globally.”
