A crime drama series centered on the Philippine drug war is set for release in 2026, with the show now in the final stages of post-production.

“Drug War: A Conspiracy of Silence” is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning producers from KC Global Mediain collaboration with Rein Entertainment, an Asian Academy Creative Award-winning production company behind the series “Bagman.”

The limited series stars Ian Veneracion as a priest grappling with guilt who partners with a troubled policewoman, played by Jane Oineza, to investigate the death of his missing protégé, portrayed by Harvey Bautista.

As the investigation progresses, the characters confront tensions between justice, faith and personal conviction.

The series draws from the structure of international crime dramas such as “Narcos,” presenting a character-driven narrative set within a Filipino context.

Also in the cast are Romnick Sarmenta, Yayo Aguila, Lotlot de Leon and John Arcilla, who received the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival.

The series is written and directed by Shugo Praico.

According to the producers, the project reflects a shared effort to develop locally rooted stories with broader international appeal, with an emphasis on narrative craft and realism.
