MANILA, Philippines —Taiwanese pop group F4 is bringing its long-awaited comeback tour to the Philippines this year, with three of its original members Jerry Yan, Vic Chou and Vanness Wu confirmed to perform in Manila as part of their “F4EVER 1st World Tour.”
Taiwan-based label B’in Music confirmed that Manila is among the scheduled stops, alongside cities including Chongqing, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Exact dates and venue details for the Philippine leg have yet to be released.
Joining the trio on tour is Ashin, lead vocalist of Taiwanese rock band Mayday.
Ken Chu, the fourth member of F4, will not be part of the tour. He had earlier confirmed he would skip the long-anticipated comeback.
The announcement has sparked excitement across Asia, where F4 rose to fame more than two decades ago through the hit television drama “Meteor Garden.”
Originally aired in 2001, “Meteor Garden” was based on the Japanese manga “Boys Over Flowers” by Yoko Kamio, starred Barbie Hsu alongside the iconic Taiwanese boy group.
The drama became a cultural phenomenon across Asia, launching the careers of its four male leads, who later formed the boy band F4 — short for “Flower Four,” the fictional group they portrayed in the series. The show is widely credited with popularizing the idol drama format and ushering in a golden era for Taiwanese television.
As a music group, F4 released three albums: “Meteor Rain” (2001), “Fantasy 4ever” (2002) and “Waiting for You” (2007), solidifying their influence beyond television.
The renewed attention surrounding the group also comes in the wake of the death of Barbie Hsu, who played the female lead in “Meteor Garden.” Hsu died on Feb. 2, 2025, in Tokyo from influenza-related pneumonia at age 48.
F4 last reunited briefly in recent years for special appearances, but the upcoming “F4EVER” tour marks their most extensive joint project in decades.
