The trailer for “Supergirl,” directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock, has been released ahead of the film’s June 24 opening in Philippine cinemas.
Produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran for DC Studios, the film also features Matthias Schoenaerts, David Krumholtz and Jason Momoa.
The trailer sees Alcock playing Kara Zor-El or “Supergirl,” who faces a personal threat that forces her to work with an unexpected ally. The story follows the character on an interstellar journey driven by revenge and justice, according to the film’s official synopsis.
The screenplay was written by Ana Nogueira. The cast also includes Eve Ridley, Emily Beecham and Krumholtz and Momoa.
The film is based on characters from DC, including Supergirl, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
Executive producers are Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars Winther.
“Supergirl” will be released internationally beginning June 24, with distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. It will also be shown in IMAX theaters in North America starting June 26.
