ABS-CBN’s docuseries on Filipino girl group Bini will begin streaming on Netflix on April 10.
“Blooms, let’s lose track of time, rewind, and repeat to where it all began. Follow the journey of the Nation’s Girl Group from their training days to their rise to stardom. The BINI Docuseries arrives April 10 on Netflix,” Netflix Philippines posted on Instagram.
Produced by ABS-CBN’s iWant Originals and ABS-CBN News Documentaries, the three-part series traces the eight-member group’s journey from auditions to their rise in the music industry. It also documents challenges during the pandemic, including mental health and personal struggles, alongside their pursuit of wider recognition. The docuseries is directed by Jet Leyco and written by Jeff Canoy, with editing by Brian Gonzales.
The release comes ahead of Bini’s scheduled debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 11 (Philippine time), where the group is set to perform at 7:15 a.m. on the Mojave Stage. The appearance marks a milestone for P-Pop, with Bini identified as the first Filipino group to perform at the festival.
The performance will be streamed live on Coachella’s official YouTube channel, with a second set scheduled on April 18.
Bini, composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena, is also set to release its new EP “Signals” on tonight, April 9, at 9 p.m. The six-track project includes new songs “Blush,” “Tic Tac Toe,” “Sugar Rush” and “Step Back,” alongside previously released singles “Unang Kilig” and “Honey Honey,” which have logged more than three million and two million streams, respectively, on Spotify.
Following Coachella, the group is scheduled to appear at the Grammy Museum’s “Global Spin Live” on April 21.
The group also recently attended an NBA game for Filipino Heritage Night hosted by the Los Angeles Clippers on March 31.
