Filipino pride takes center stage as BINI performs at Coachella

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino music and culture took center stage at Coachella as BINI delivered a vibrant set featuring Tagalog songs, traditional elements and tropical-inspired visuals before a global audience.

Performing on the Mojave stage during the festival’s first weekend, the eight-member group maximized their 45-minute set with a lineup of fan-favorite tracks and high-energy choreography.

The group opened with “Shagidi” in gold outfits paired with salakot, a traditional Filipino headgear, before transitioning into colorful, tropical ensembles accented with banig patterns, drawing cheers from the crowd.

They followed with “Zero Pressure” and “Out of My Head” before pausing to introduce themselves.

“We are BINI, all the way from the Philippines!” the group said.

“We are so happy to be here and we hope you are ready to party with us in the desert as we take you into our world,” leader Jhoanna added.

“We are so grateful to represent the Philippines on a global stage and to share with you guys our music that is why thank you so much Coachella,” Aiah said.

“And to everyone watching in the livestream, we hope you can feel the energy from wherever you are tuning in from. But of course, shout out to our Blooms here and to our Blooms watching on the livestream! Mahal namin kayo!” Sheena said.

The group delivered a back-to-back set of songs, including “Karera,” “Salamin Salamin,” “Blink Twice,” “Cherry on Top,” “Blush,” “Bikini” and “Pantropiko.”

The group also engaged festivalgoers by teaching the “Eyy!” hand gesture popularized by member Sheena.
