GMA is offering viewers a mix of meaningful films, documentaries and special programs this Holy Week, led by the Philippine free TV premiere of “Firefly” on Black Saturday.
The network’s special programming invites Kapuso audiences to reflect, relax and spend time with family through a carefully curated lineup of inspiring stories, child-friendly titles and informative shows from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday.
The Holy Week lineup begins on Maundy Thursday, April 2, with a full day of movies and programs that balance faith, entertainment and public affairs. The schedule includes “Jesus,” “Soccer Dog: European Cup,” “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “Forrest Gump,” “It’s Showtime,” “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” “Reporter’s Notebook,” “The Atom Araullo Specials,” “24 Oras,” “The Ten Commandments” and “I-Witness.”
The meaningful binge-watch continues on Good Friday, April 3, with a selection of family-friendly and inspirational titles. Among them are “The Story of Jesus for Children,” “Power to Unite with Elvira,” “Cats and Peachtopia,” “Surf’s Up 2: Wavemania” and “Lassie.” Also airing that day are “Siete Palabras,” “Aguila,” “CBN Asia Tanikala: Ako’y Sa’yo,” “24 Oras,” “Family of Two: A Mother and Son Story,” “I Love Lizzy” and “I-Witness.”
On Black Saturday, April 4, GMA brings “Firefly” to Philippine free television for the first time, giving more viewers the chance to see the widely acclaimed film.

By Easter Sunday, April 5, GMA resumes regular programming with shows such as “Born to be Wild,” “iBilib,” “All-Out Sundays,” “Regal Studio Presents,” “Resibo,” “FPJ sa GMA,” “24 Oras,” “Bubble Gang,” “Stars on the Floor,” “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” “TBATS on the Go” and “Doors.”
With its Holy Week programming, GMA aims to offer stories and specials that speak to faith, family and reflection, while still giving viewers a varied and worthwhile viewing experience throughout the long break.
