Two alternative acts, EarlySeven and Dream Seven, are each marking a new phase in their careers with releases tied to the symbolic use of the number seven.
EarlySeven has released its debut album, “Red Letters,” a seven-track collection shaped by personal narratives and a mix of modern pop, alternative rock and acoustic elements with techno-disco-rock influences.
The band was formed in Taguig by guitarist Pibo, drummer Bethel, bassist Kryz, keyboardist Cojay and vocalist El, whose early musical roots trace back to church ministry. Initially an instrumental group, the band later developed a more defined, story-driven sound.
“Red Letters” centers on themes the group associates with the idea of “early seven,” described as the hour before sunset when reflection comes into focus. All seven tracks were written by El and developed through collaborative sessions within the band.
Among the tracks, “Nananabik,” which took nearly two years to complete, reflects what the group describes as its focus on authenticity and growth. Other songs, including “Sayong Sayo,” “Giliw” and the lead single “Kung Para Lang Sayo,” follow a narrative arc of a love story moving from longing to commitment.
The band also links the number seven to its structure: five members, a production team and its listeners, completing what it refers to as a “septenary circle.”
Meanwhile, Dream Seven has released the single “Hi Ex,” which draws from personal experiences of heartbreak and marks a shift in the band’s sound.
Formed in 2012, the group has undergone several lineup changes, with original members Jeff and Otep remaining. The band has been associated with emotionally driven “hugot” songs.
Written in November 2025, “Hi Ex” reflects a period of personal difficulty and introduces a heavier, more intense sound while maintaining the band’s established style.
Now operating independently without management, Dream Seven is navigating a new phase as an indie act, which the group describes as both challenging and defining.
Both releases are available on streaming platforms and are distributed by Curve Entertainment Inc.
