Michelle Williams and Daisy Edgar-Jones helped rev up CinemaCon guests with the first look at the thriller A Place in Hell.
The pair appeared in a video segment as part of Neon‘s presentation in Las Vegas to promote director Chloe Domont‘s movie that hits theaters Dec. 25 and also includes Andrew Scott and Danny Huston in the cast. A Place in Hell stars Williams as Rebecca, a pregnant criminal defense attorney who develops tension with a younger lawyer (Edgar-Jones) as they team up on a challenging case.
“She’s taking over your cases until you get back,” Huston informs Williams as she prepares for parental leave.
Later, Edgar-Jones warns Williams, “If you think you can just push me out of the way, then I would advise you to take a bigger swing.” Williams goes on to lament, “This is my whole life. This is everything I’ve ever worked for.”
Edgar-Jones has a memorable moment in the footage when she declares, “I’m not just going to replace you, Rebecca. I’m going to destroy your fucking life.”
In the video segment that introduced the trailer, Williams and Edgar-Jones exchanged jokes while seated in a car. “If we don’t see you in theaters, we’ll see you in hell,” Edgar-Jones quipped.
Domont helmed A Place in Hell from her own script for the film that counts Leopold Hughes and Ben LeClair as producers. Domont’s feature directorial debut was 2023’s corporate thriller Fair Play, starring Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich.
CinemaCon is the annual event for exhibitors and Hollywood studios that runs this year from April 13-16. It is the official convention of Cinema United.
