Gen Z stars come out for ‘Huwag Kang Titingin’ black carpet

GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions rolled out the black carpet for the premiere of their Gen Z horror film Huwag Kang Titingin, held ahead of its nationwide cinema release on April 15.

The event gathered the film’s young cast and key creatives, offering a first look at the project that blends contemporary internet culture with Filipino folklore. Leading the attendees were Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, joined by co-stars Charlie Fleming, Michael Sager, Josh Ford, Anthony Constantino, and Shuvee Etrata, among others.

The ensemble cast turned up in style for the black carpet affair, marking a milestone moment for the film, which brings together a mix of rising talents and familiar faces. Also part of the lineup are Marco Masa, Kira Balinger, Sean Lucas, Lui Manansala, Sherilyn Reyes, Alchris Galura, Michael Flores, Bernadette Allyson, David Domanais, and Christian Kimp Atip.

Directed by Frasco Mortiz and written by Ays De Guzman, the film centers on a viral online challenge rooted in an old ritual said to communicate with the dead. What begins as curiosity soon spirals into terror, as participants unwittingly awaken a sinister presence known as the “Umaaaligid.”

Set in the eerie town of San Antonio, the story follows Selene (Pablo) as she confronts buried truths while trying to protect her younger brother from the growing threat. Ansay plays Badong, a reserved kasambahay harboring unsettling knowledge tied to the unfolding events.

The black carpet premiere served as a prelude to the film’s theatrical run, generating buzz for what its creators describe as a modern Filipino horror story grounded in both digital-age fears and traditional superstition.

Huwag Kang Titingin is now showing nationwide.
