Prime Video expands Filipino slate with seven new originals

Prime Video is deepening its investment in Filipino storytelling, unveiling seven original series that bring together top stars, major studios and a wide range of genres, from crime and romance to political thrillers and family drama.

The announcement, made during the platform’s first local slate presentation dubbed “Prime Video Presents: Philippines,” highlights collaborations with ABS-CBN and GMA Network, marking an industry partnership aimed at delivering “premium storytelling” for Filipino audiences.

“We've seen Filipino audiences embrace global Prime Video hits… which shows the appetite for premium storytelling. Now we're bringing that same commitment to quality with local originals featuring Filipino talent,” said David Simonsen, regional director for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

‘The Silent Noise’

Leading the slate is “The Silent Noise,” a crime drama already streaming, marking the return of Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo.

“It just keeps getting more and more intense. As the events unfold, you’ll really start to feel nervous. You’ll feel exactly what we’re feeling as the story progresses,” Panganiban said.

Marudo, meanwhile, advised viewers should not be quick to draw conclusions. “As the story moves forward, the characters begin to transform and their secrets are revealed one by one. If you already have guesses about who the suspect is, that’s not it yet. There’s still so much more to look forward to.”

The series follows a deaf son forced to confront hidden truths after a body is discovered in their town. Also joining them in the series are KD Omalin, Zaijian Jaranilla and Mutya Orquia.

‘Love Is Never Gone’

In “Love Is Never Gone,” Joshua Garcia and Ivana Alawi headline a romance-thriller filmed partly in Morocco.

“This is our first time shooting in Morocco. We want to showcase the beauty of Morocco, and of course, the beautiful story created by our writers,” Garcia said.

Alawi described the project as both physically and emotionally intense. “As you can see, it’s very hot, and at the same time it’s full of action, full of love, and very different from what we usually do. This is definitely a series people should watch out for.

The story centers on an ex-convict who discovers his former lover — believed to be dead — is alive and living a completely new life. Joining them are Jameson Blake, Jane Oineza, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith

'The Loyalty Game’

“The Loyalty Game” brings together Janine Gutierrez, Jericho Rosales and Sofia Andres in a psychological thriller inspired by viral “loyalty test” trends.

“I’m very excited to work with Janine and Jericho because it’s my first time working with them. I was actually really nervous at first, but after our taping, I can say they’ve been very supportive of me, so I’m really happy,” Andres said.

Rosales said the project is a long-awaited reunion after briefly working with Gutierrez in “Lavender Fields.”

“I’m very excited to work with Janine again because we felt because we didn’t get enough time on our first project together. Now we’re sharing the screen full time, and it’s great because we already understand each other’s discipline and how we work,” he said.

Gutierrez emphasized the unpredictability of the series, saying, “It’s the kind of project I would personally watch and wait for. It’s mysterious, it’s for thrill seekers, and the script is so exciting that even we don’t know what’s going to happen next. I’m sure viewers will feel the same way.”

'Kopino’

Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu lead “Kopino,” a cross-cultural story about Korean-Filipino identity.

“We always try to tell stories that are very Filipino. This one is about Korean-Filipinos searching for their identity. It’s unique, and something Filipinos can be proud of as international audiences get to watch it,” Avelino said.

Chiu also shared, “For me, working with Prime Video again feels like coming home — but it’s a home that keeps evolving. This project is about Korean and Filipino culture, so of course there’s a bit of ‘Korea magic.’ We’ll be shooting some scenes in Korea with Korean actors, so it’s something very new and exciting for us.”

‘Honor Thy Mother’

“Honor Thy Mother” unites Sharon Cuneta and Barbie Forteza in a family drama shaped by corporate intrigue.

“It’s my second project with Prime, and I’m very pleased because this time it is the first collaboration between ABS-CBN and GMA for Prime Video. It really feels like two families coming together under one roof, and we’re proud and honored to be part of that,” Cuneta said.

Forteza, on the other hand, said, “You have big companies coming together for what some might call a ‘mega’ project,’ It’s my first time working with Dreamscape, alongside my home network and Prime, so it really feels like a major collaboration to bring this story to life.”

Along with John Estrada and Khalil Ramos, the series follows a CEO and her estranged daughter who must unite to survive a deadly conspiracy, exploring mother-daughter reconciliation through corporate intrigue and redemption.

 'Behind Closed Doors’

In “Behind Closed Doors,” Marian Rivera takes on a role unlike any she has done before.

“There was really no reason for me to say no to this project because it’s so offbeat for me. I play the mistress of the president of the Philippines, which is something I’ve never done before, and at the same time I’m a journalist, which is also new for me,” revealed Rivera.

In the series, Rivera will play a sharp-tongued radio announcer whose secret affair with the Philippine President — played in a special participation by real-life husband, Dingdong Dantes — is exposed, making her the prime suspect in his assassination and putting her on a collision course with his daughter, portrayed by Jillian Ward.

“I think this is a very good project. It’s very intriguing because people will start asking, what really happens behind closed doors? That’s what they should look forward to,” she added.

‘Last One Laughing’

Lastly, “LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines” returns for a second season with Vice Ganda as host. The comedy competition series challenges 10 comedians to make each other laugh while keeping straight faces themselves — the last one standing wins.

Season 1 became one of Prime Video's most-watched titles in the Philippines, with organic positive social media reactions, reflecting how Filipino audiences embraced the format and relatable humor.

Subhead: Building a broader content hub

Alongside the original series, Prime Video is also expanding its catalog with licensed Filipino films and additional Korean titles set for release in 2026.

“This slate represents the depth of our collaboration with Filipino creators and studios. We’re supporting local storytellers in bringing their visions to life — stories that connect with Filipino audiences while showcasing their talent globally,” said Chaitanya Divan, head of content acquisition for Southeast Asia.

With its expanded lineup, Prime Video is positioning itself as a central hub for both local and international content, betting that Filipino stories can stand alongside global hits and resonate far beyond the country’s borders.
